How to Change Mobile Number in Aadhaar – Offline Step-by-Step Process 2026
Follow these steps to update your registered mobile number in Aadhaar:
- Step 1: Locate the nearest Permanent Aadhaar Enrolment Centre (Bank, Post Office, or Govt Centre)
- Step 2: Obtain and fill Aadhaar Update/Correction Form (available free at centre)
- Step 3: In the form, select “Mobile Number” as the field to update
- Step 4: Write your new mobile number clearly in the designated field
- Step 5: Attach self-attested copy of your Aadhaar (sign on the copy)
- Step 6: Visit the centre with original Aadhaar card for biometric verification
- Step 7: Pay the update fee: ₹50 + GST (approx ₹59 total)
- Step 8: Collect the Update Request Number (URN) slip
- Step 9: Mobile number update takes 7-10 working days to process
- Step 10: After approval, you will receive SMS confirmation on your new mobile number

Note: Your new mobile number will become the registered mobile number for all Aadhaar services including OTP verification, online login, and e-KYC.
