How to Change Name in Aadhaar Card Online – Step by Step 2026
Updating your name in Aadhaar online is simple, fast, and completely free. Follow these steps:
- Step 1: Visit the official UIDAI portal: myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
- Step 2: Click on “Update Your Aadhaar” under the “Get Aadhaar” section
- Step 3: Select “Name” as the field you want to update
- Step 4: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number or VID (Virtual ID)
- Step 5: Enter the security code (CAPTCHA) displayed
- Step 6: Click “Send OTP” – OTP sent to registered mobile number
- Step 7: Enter the OTP and click “Login”
- Step 8: Enter your new/corrected name as you want it to appear
- Step 9: Upload valid name proof document (PDF/JPG, max 2MB)
